DownStreet Art exists to build economic and social capital and encourage the dialogue between our community and the arts. DownStreet Art does this by enlivening downtown North Adams using art and cultural activities to increase visitorship and enhance 居民的参与.

Each summer from late June till the end of September, DSA creates a wide program of
visual and performing art events including exhibitions, video screenings and site-specific
installations in downtown North Adams. A post-industrial city in the Berkshire Hills
of Massachusetts, North Adams began its cultural revitalization with the opening of
the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) in 1999.

Our goal is to help the economic development of North Adams and encourage the dialogue
between our community and the arts. Since its inception in 2008, over 150,000 visitors
came downtown and through the doors of DownStreet Art’s galleries and exhibits.
Who is involved in the project
DownStreet Art is a program of 艺术与文化 (MAC) a program of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, MA.
In addition to MCLA, founding partners are the 北亚当斯市, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and MASS MoCA.
DownStreet Art would never have been possible without the many individuals and organizations 谁曾支持过MCLA艺术 & Culture (formerly the Berkshire Cultural Resource Center) and DownStreet Art since their inception.
